Packaging is a top environmental concern of consumers, and a significant contributor to a product and company’s climate impact. In this webinar, Nancy Hirshberg of Hirshberg Strategic will brief attendees on the climate impact of packaging across its lifecycle, and identify strategies to address the impacts. She will share examples of company initiatives to improve the climate performance of packaging and discuss the challenges balancing improving the climate performance of packaging with other needs such as meeting consumer expectations and advancing other aspects of sustainability of packaging. Nancy Hirshberg is the Founder and Chief Catalyst at sustainability consulting firm Hirshberg Strategic and a co-founder of the Climate Collaborative. Nancy has worked at the nexus of food, business and the environment for more than twenty five years and has been widely recognized for her groundbreaking work leading yogurt maker Stonyfield Farm’s award winning sustainability and agricultural initiatives. Her clients have included Patagonia, Ben and Jerry’s, Danone and Califia Farms. Nancy is a past Vice President of the Organic Trade Association and currently serves as a Director for the American Farmland Trust and Climate Access as well as advisor for Preserve.
