January 2025 Newsletter

What a pivotal moment we’re in! As I sat down to write this, my hope was to provide you with a clear sense of direction as we navigate the flurry of Executive Orders coming out of Washington. However, it feels like things are shifting by the moment. We must look at these developments through the lens of their impact on our work, lives, and our community-members. My advice for this moment: Be vocal! Find your member of Congress here and share your concerns.

As more information emerges in the coming weeks, we will keep you updated on how you can align your voice with others who are equally concerned—citizens and businesses alike.

In the meantime, we’re planning a session for Climate Day at Expo West that will offer a real-time pulse check on what’s happening in Washington and how you can continue to support climate advocacy efforts in 2025 and beyond.

Now more than ever, we need community. I truly hope you will join us in-person at Climate Day and connect with this incredible community of thought leaders. Our keynote speaker, Otto Scharmer, will speak to the moment we find ourselves in and offer clear perspectives on how to navigate these profound times of turbulence.

We are also thrilled to offer a workshop with Dr. Scharmer on Wednesday, March 5th at Expo. This is a rare opportunity to learn from—and work alongside—one of the world’s leading systems thinkers and changemakers. Otto’s work has impacted hundreds of thousands globally and has played a pivotal role in the development of our Community of Practice and the work of the Sustainable Herbs Initiative. Trust me, this workshop is not to be missed. It’s designed to be an intimate event, and it will sell out quickly, so don’t delay in securing your seat.

Climate Day will be incredible this year, with a number of exciting updates planning to be shared during the event. Be sure to reserve your spot now to ensure you’re included in the Participant Map.

See you soon!

Input Requested: Aligned Sustainability Reporting Initiative

The Aligned Sustainability Reporting Working Group, convened by the Climate Collaborative, brings together 20 companies to explore the scope of the current reporting and disclosure challenges our industry faces and identify pathways forward. This work is guided by the leadership of our Steering Committee, which includes: Compass Group, FMI, Kerry, Planet FWD, and Sensiba.

This group has provided critical feedback on the current state of reporting and disclosure, and now we need to hear from you! Your feedback is essential to help us better understand the reporting challenges you face and your specific needs.
