September 2024 Newsletter

Like many of you, we returned from Climate Week this week with a renewed sense of urgency to accelerate our climate action efforts. While many of us live this mission daily, it's always valuable to explore new opportunities for impact and partnership. One key takeaway for our team was the clarion call from Bill McKibben, who emphasized that the single most important thing we can do right now is to mobilize people to align their vote with the climate during this critical upcoming election.

Our Vote4ClimateNow campaign, launched last week, makes it easy for businesses to engage their customers in a bipartisan and lighthearted way about the importance of considering climate when voting. We provide all the resources and assets you need to leverage your reach during this crucial time. We encourage you to utilize these resources, including the amazing graphics produced by Modern Species, and help amplify this message within your networks. Let's empower people to vote with the climate in mind!

Additionally, we were reminded of the incredible value our Regenerative Transition Community of Practice offers to companies. Building on the success of our first cohort—which included participants from Aurora Organic Dairy, Califia, Clif, NSI, Daily Harvest, sweetgreen, Wildway, Rumiano, and UNFI—this curated experience continues to bring together suppliers, distribution, retail, and CPGs alongside leading experts in regenerative transition. There are still spaces and scholarships available for the next cohort, and we’d love for you to be part of this transformative journey.

In collaboration,

ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Regenerative Transition Community of Practice

Registration is now open for the second cohort of our Regenerative Transition Community of Practice (CoP)! This learning community provides three critical elements to support your regenerative transition work:

  1. A network of industry peers to learn from and collaborate with
  2. Insights and dialogues with industry thought leaders and service providers
  3. Hands-on access to tools and frameworks to inform your work now and in the future

We extend our deep gratitude to the UNFI Foundation for their support in making the Community of Practice a reality!

Get Out the Vote: Vote4ClimateNow Campaign

This November, we have an unprecedented opportunity to drive climate action by getting out the vote. That's why we're excited to introduce the Vote4ClimateNow campaign! This initiative centers on three key goals:

  1. Get people registered to vote.
  2. Educate voters on how they can support climate policies at the state and federal levels.
  3. Mobilize voters to take action!

We've made it easy for your organization to join this nonpartisan effort. Visit our website for ready-to-use graphics, messaging, and all the resources you need to get started.

SERVICE PROVIDER UPDATES

Soil & Climate Alliance

NEW-SCI_Logo_Green_smaller.pngThe Soil & Climate Alliance (SCA) is a thought leadership working group at the intersection of food and agriculture. They are focused on shifting all agricultural acres in North America onto the regenerative pathway. As an innovation hub, the SCA Network comes together to test and scale new ideas, initiatives, and partnerships for a regenerative food system. SCA members convene to share supply chain intelligence and learn how farmers, companies, and suppliers collaborate to market innovative, regenerative products. They focus on regenerative transition by building soil health, increasing biodiversity, and creating pathways to economic resilience for farmers, farm workers, and rural communities.

  • If you're interested in learning more about the work of SCA, join their virtual Fall Network Meeting on October 30th from 11 am - 5 pm ET. Reach out to Justine Ghai if you're interested in learning more!
