June 2025 Newsletter

Welcome to summer! I hope you are weathering the heat and the news cycle, and finding moments of respite with your loved ones.

Last week’s solstice offered a natural pause point in the year to reflect on what has unfolded since winter and what lies ahead. The question I was holding: How can the Climate Collaborative best serve our community in this moment? There continues to be so much shifting and changing, with systemic implications for all of us. For those of us doing climate work, it can feel fracturing at times to hold the urgency of tending to the acute realities we’re facing while also trying to move the dial on the broader crisis of climate change.

We see our most critical role in this moment as twofold. First, what feels clear is that how we do the work of climate action is just as important as what we do. We need to focus on regenerating our relationships with one another, with the planet, and with ourselves. This is why the Climate Leaders Circle and the Regenerative Transition Community of Practice exist. We do tangible work together in a way that supports our ability to navigate complexity, while also building the connections that give us personal and organizational resilience.

At the same time, there is urgency. As we witness and grieve the dismantling of hard-won climate progress, we know we must come back even stronger. Our entire team, including our Board, feels this deeply. We are committed to focusing on the areas of work with the greatest potential for impact. This is why we are so excited that, in the months ahead, the Climate Collaborative will be launching new programming focused on short-lived climate pollutants, also known as super pollutants. These emissions are often overlooked, yet they represent some of the most powerful opportunities for near-term climate gains. We look forward to sharing more with you soon.

In the meantime, I hope you are able to find moments this summer to rest and reconnect with nature and your loved ones.

With gratitude,
Courtney

CLIMATE COLLABORATIVE EVENTS & RESOURCES

Join the Climate Leaders Circle! Launching August 2025

Climate_Leaders_Circle_web.jpg

The Climate Leaders Circle is a space for leaders—at all levels within grocery and food service organizations—who are seeking meaningful insights and connections to advance their climate work.

Through thoughtfully facilitated sessions, we’ll explore the most pressing topics facing our industry—from emissions reductions to resilience, from supply chain engagement to regenerative practices. Each session will center on a distinct theme, creating space for shared learning, open dialogue, and peer support.

With a growing group of committed CPG and food service leaders already on board, the Circle offers a rare opportunity to engage in meaningful conversation and collective problem-solving with a community of peers.

The cohort begins on August 26th. We hope you’ll join us.

Turning Insurance into Climate Action

Premiums for the Planet helps brands and nonprofits leverage their corporate insurance to drive real climate impact. Most organizations do not realize their premiums are used to invest in and underwrite carbon-intensive industries, fueling the very risks they aim to avoid. Premiums for the Planet flips the script, helping companies align coverage with their values while uncovering opportunities to reduce costs, close coverage gaps, and strengthen business resilience.

Through collective action, members like Sierra Club Foundation, Mad Agriculture, and Climate First Bank are improving their risk profiles and sending a powerful signal to insurers. Together, we are accelerating a shift toward more sustainable insurance investing and underwriting practices that benefit both people and the planet.

Joining is free and easy. Act now before your next renewal and have outsized impact with the same dollars you're already spending on insurance.
